Standards for Vice-President Units, Board Member Units, and Member Units: Vice-President Units are selected from among Member Units and Board Member Units. They are typically represented by enterprises in the industry that possess significant strength and influence, holding a position within the association that is higher than Board Member Units but lower than Executive Vice-President Units. Board Member Units, meanwhile, are appointed from companies within the industry that demonstrate notable scale and distinctive characteristics. These units occupy a status within the association that is higher than Member Units but lower than Vice-President Units.
According to industry practice and the draft association charter, member organizations are required to pay an annual membership fee. Based on discussions at the association’s preparatory meeting, the initial proposal sets the annual fee at around 10,000 yuan for vice-chair units, approximately 4,000 yuan for director units, and roughly 1,000 yuan for regular members. Individual members, however, are exempt from paying any fees. The charter was reviewed and approved by the council, including decisions on adding new vice-chair units, director units, vice-chair positions, and committee members. Similarly, these same proposals were also deliberated and passed during the general membership meeting. This session was chaired by Chi Qiang, Vice Chairman of the Alliance.
The conference first reviewed and approved the association's report and financial report, and proceeded to elect one new vice president, seven individual directors, and seven institutional directors. Board Member Organizations: Companies with unique innovation capabilities and competitive advantages; enterprises positioned within the industry value chain, as well as promising, innovative companies with growth potential. These organizations can self-nominate, subject to review by the Secretariat, and ultimately be elected by the member units.
The meeting reviewed and approved the association's charter and election procedures. Members present then voted by show of hands to adopt the proposed list of nominated council member organizations, leading to the formation of the council itself. Finally, the council members proceeded to elect the president, vice presidents, supervisor, and secretary-general.
The position of "director unit" refers to the title held by those who exercise authority and manage affairs, and they are elected by all members. Meanwhile, the executive directors are selected by the board of directors from among the directors themselves, forming the Standing Committee of Directors, which wields greater influence than the regular board of directors.
Due to the pandemic, the association did not hold its general membership meeting. At this board meeting, the vice president presented the association's 2022 financial report. Adhering to the principles of openness, transparency, and accountability, a detailed report was shared with all board members and received unanimous approval. The association will now organize experts to evaluate the innovation capabilities of each board member unit, and will submit written recommendations covering areas such as fostering innovation recognition programs, promoting scientific research collaboration between eastern and western regions, and supporting national pilot projects in smart governance for social development. It’s harvest season! The event was grandly held at the exhibition hall in Guangzhou. Concurrently with the exhibition, association leaders—including the Party Secretary, Secretary-General, Vice Presidents, Deputy Secretary, and representatives from board member units (including their CEOs)—made a special visit to engage in exchanges and conduct on-site inspections at the board member companies.
